Sunset Normalizations

I've been playing with some formula tweaks - one thing I like to try is adding a blending factor that mixes between the usual iteration value and one that has been normalized (to unit length). It seems to introduce mostly anisotropic distortions which are not my favorite thing but this area did turn up some interesting landscape like spots:





Since it looked a little like some kind of planetary vista I tried to enhance the sunset feeling using direct orbit traps:
