Warm and Detailed PhoenixDoubleNova

I've found some really nice spots recently by looking around in the spikes that form in the PhoenixDoubleNova lake, near the tips. There are usually spots where the otherwise smooth lake edge has a sharp corner in it, which is just off the south-eastern corner of this map:


If you take a closer look at these spikes, you'll see that they're made of an extremely intricate, and interestingly textured lace of spirals:







Find places where detail and color play nicely with each other, and tune the composite to bring out both:




There are lots of nice points of balance like the following:




This map from nearby (centered on another spike) showed some good aesthetic indications:


I did some exploration of the eastern side:




Found this beauty around here too, which has a really nice natural feeling to it:



There are also variations in texture such as spirals deforming the edges of basins:





And the occasional mandelField:
